Collegiate Librarian & Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor, Kennesaw State University

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track Collegiate Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty positions in the University Libraries that begins as early as October 1, 2024. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia, and will serve the following subject areas: humanities, social sciences, or science/math.

Responsibilities

1. Provide instruction in research and information literacy for both face-to-face and online classes.
2. Foster relationships with faculty to incorporate library instruction into courses in multifaceted ways.
3. Develop and maintain digital or physical instructional materials to support subject disciplines and individual courses.
4. Work with students to develop advanced level library research skills.
5. Develop academic enrichment opportunities to support advanced student and faculty research.
6. Develop and maintain partnerships with KSU units, departments, centers, etc., that support student and faculty research efforts and collection development.
7. Support university research teams' activities and initiatives.
8. Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship and advanced research support.
9. Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession.
10. Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity.
11. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.

Because our libraries are open 7 days a week and in the evenings, these positions will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. These positions will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Required Qualifications

1. An earned master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related equivalent terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent.
2. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
3. A minimum of 1 year of instruction experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1. A minimum of two years of experience working as a librarian in an academic library or related institution or equivalent experience.
2. A record of professional service.
3. A record of developing scholarship within academic librarianship or a subject specialty.
