Job Summary
The Outreach Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing community engagement and promoting library services. This position involves developing and implementing outreach strategies to connect with diverse populations, ensuring access to library resources and programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for promoting literacy and education within the community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute outreach programs that promote library services and resources to various community groups.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including schools, community organizations, and local businesses, to foster partnerships.
  • Utilize integrated library systems for data collection and management, ensuring accurate data entry and cataloging of outreach activities.
  • Troubleshoot software issues related to library services and assist staff in resolving technical problems.
  • Organize workshops, events, and informational sessions to engage the community and raise awareness of library offerings.
  • Collect feedback from participants to assess program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of outreach activities, including attendance, engagement metrics, and participant demographics.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Library or Information Sciences, Education, Social Work, Nonprofit Administration, Ethnic Studies, Labor Studies or related degree preferred;
  • OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in library services or a related community engagement field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with integrated library systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in cataloging information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A commitment to promoting literacy, education, and access to information for all community members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,700.00 - $68,700.00 per year
