Pay Rate: $32.49 starting pay, plus benefits

The Town of Yarmouth is searching for a strong technical services library professional to join our Library Division team.

As a member of the management team and in conjunction with the Library Director, you will plan, develop, and implement library programs and services, identify community needs and requests, and perform related public relations work.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collection development: materials selection, ordering, processing, maintenance in all platforms (print, non-print, and electronic).
  2. Working with administration to plan, track, and manage department budget expenditures.
  3. Maintaining department statistical records and preparing reports for the Library Director, Town Library Board, and the Commonwealth.
  4. Training and supervising subordinate library staff; coordinating Technical Services and IT volunteers.
  5. Representing the library at local and regional meetings, conferences, and workshops; conducting and leading such meetings as needed.
  6. Performing other duties as needed for efficient library operations.

RECOMMENDED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science from an accredited library school preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience: Three years library experience, preferably in a public library, and with at least one year in technical services with increasing responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Direct customer service and management experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
