Federal Work Study Student Job Announcement
Position: Federal Work Study – IT for Library Services
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Financial Aid
Reports to: Shirley Moon Financial Aid Coordinator
Salary/Benefits: $10.00 per hour, maximum 19.5 hours per week. No State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and troubleshoot computer problems (e.g., freezing, printing issues, booting problems).
- Assist students with library resources, including but not limited to GALILEO and library catalog searches.
- Learn to use and teach others about technology equipment available in the library (e.g., 3D printer, 3D pen, Sphero).
- Assist students with access to library information.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current student at Athens Technical College, maintaining registration of a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Meet Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
- Current aid year FAFSA completed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled student in an eligible program of study, registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours.
- Not in default or owe repayment for any Federal Aid program.
- Complete financial aid file verified by the Office of Financial Aid.
- Strong communication skills and work ethic.
- Have unmet need by FAFSA guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 5 to 44 pounds.
- Occasional bending.
- Able to see and read PC screens on a daily basis.
- Understand what clients are saying in normal conversation.
- Finger and hand dexterity necessary to service computers and peripherals daily.
