Part-Time independent contractor position
Competitive hourly pay between $22 to $25
Motivate and lead the next generation of media artists and empower young individuals to express themselves through diverse media forms. Make a positive impact on the youth in our community through the captivating realm of media arts at LTYC.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive media arts curriculum covering digital photography, video production, graphic design, animation, and other relevant disciplines.
- Provide engaging and interactive instruction tailored to the skill levels of youth, ensuring they are both supported and appropriately challenged.
- Lead students through the entire process of creating media arts projects, from planning and execution to presentation.
- Incorporate various software and equipment to enhance the learning experience, staying updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
- Assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors, staff, and community partners to support program objectives and enrich the educational experience.
- Act as a mentor and role model for students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Engage in community outreach and events to promote LTYC's programs and establish connections with local organizations.
- Pursue continuous professional growth and development opportunities in the field of media arts education.
Qualifications:
- Education required for the Media Arts Instructor position in Baltimore, MD, US includes a Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching media arts to youth, with a preference for experience in a school or community-based setting.
- Proficiency in media arts software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc., along with a strong understanding of digital media production encompassing photography, videography, and graphic design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively connect with and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching methods and project design.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and effectively contribute to a team environment.
- A genuine passion for the arts and a commitment to empowering youth through creative expression.
Compensation: $22 - $25
