Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Coordinator will serve as a content creator & community manager reporting to tarte's Social Media Director. This role will be responsible for executing upon omni-channel social strategies, producing social-first video content and photo assets, and managing both social & content production calendars. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who lives and breathes social, has experience on camera and creating & editing social content on iPhone under quick deadlines. Responsibilities:

  1. iPhone Content Creation:
  • Ideate and facilitate production & post-production of short-form video deliverables, with a focus on TikTok and IG Reels. Must be comfortable with showing face in video and on socials.
  • Shoot social-first video content & photo assets daily that are engaging, and on-brand.
  • Film yourself regularly to create authentic & relatable content for our social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram, Snap Chat, X, YouTube & more. Examples of content capture include but are not limited to:
    • UGC social style product application for new & core products
    • Lifestyle content: Content that showcases how tarte products fit into everyday life and special moments.
    • Capture content at events with ability to post live in real time while also capturing & editing video content for all social platforms.
    • Produce a variety of content formats such as images, videos, GIFs, stories, reels, and live streams.
    • Ensure all content is visually appealing and adheres to brand guidelines.
  • Note: tarte will provide an iPhone for content creation needs.
  • Editing & Post-Production:
    • Ability to quickly edit your own videos as well as create videos using other team members' content.
    • Proficiency in using CapCut and Splice for video editing.
    • Add creative elements, effects, and music to enhance the content and drive engagement.
    • Maintain a fast turnaround on video edits to meet short deadlines and keep up with the fast-paced nature of social media.
    • Capture and edit video content simultaneously while working/shooting at events.
  • Content Strategy and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute a content calendar that aligns with our overall marketing strategy.
    • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and platform updates to ensure our content remains relevant and engaging.
    • Adapt to changing priorities and quickly produce content in response to trending topics or company needs.
  • Community Management: Actively monitoring, engaging & addressing customers on social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.) in the brand's tone of voice.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Assist in compiling social performance reports, analyzing results, and synthesizing findings to make strategy & content recommendations.
  • Go live.
  • Day-to-Day Department Admin:
    • Active engagement in all social platforms to make recommendations for content creation.
    • Assist with social copywriting and scheduling for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook, aligning with the brand's voice.
    • Go live on social accounts.
    • Comfortable self-applying makeup.
    • Managing all product orders and distributing to in-house content creators, sourcing for photo/video production, etc.
    • Responsible for coding links for .com promotions & new product launches.
    • Attend daily meetings & brainstorms and responsible for agendas & recaps.
    • Escalate issues and concerns seen on social to the Customer Service & Ecomm team in a timely manner.
    • Assist in cross-functional marketing departments as needed for major product launches and events.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • 1-2 years of experience in marketing (beauty or fashion experience is a bonus).
    • Proven experience creating and editing social media content using an iPhone.
    • Strong portfolio showcasing creative and engaging content.
    • Excellent time-management and organizational skills to handle short deadlines.
    • Ability to multitask effectively, especially in event settings.
    • Experience with social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Snap, Pinterest and YouTube.
    • Must be willing to monitor social channels periodically over nights & on weekends.
    • Must be comfortable in front of the camera & willing to appear on our social channels.
    • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and basic photo/video editing software and apps (Canva, Splice). Premiere/Photoshop is preferred, but not required.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Flexible personality.
