The compensation for this appointment will range from $26.50 to $30.00 hourly and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Position Summary Information

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Multimedia Services, this person will work alongside ITS staff in supporting technologies across areas of classrooms, conference rooms, HelpDesk, accessibility compliance, and training. Maintains integrity of audiovisual (A/V) equipment. Works closely with university departments to ensure satisfaction on installation and equipment usage. Trains student workers, faculty, and staff in AV technologies across campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Assistant Director of Multimedia Services to install and maintain audiovisual equipment.
  • Assist with implementation of classroom and lab multimedia equipment refresh to include projection systems, LCD/LED, interactive boards, sound systems, A/V mixers, video conferencing, digital signage, video production, document cameras, and lecterns/podiums.
  • Work with IT staff to oversee enterprise systems in support of multimedia technology.
  • Create and maintain documentation, procedures, training, and schedules for classroom equipment.
  • Assist in creating and managing area resources and schedules as well as training for faculty, staff, and student employees in the use of multimedia technologies.
  • Take lead on installations under the guidance of the Assistant Director in function and cleanliness.
  • Maintain fluency and understanding of multimedia system products and connected applications including functionality, capability, security, and best practices.
  • Interface and communicate with customers as needed and assist in developing customer-centric and service-oriented culture.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant multimedia technologies through certification and online training.
  • Maintain relevant documentation to track inventory and service calls.
  • Assist in daily operations of classrooms, labs, and conference rooms.
  • Follow appropriate guidelines and procedures for multimedia technology use.

  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to use A/V facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to understand classroom/lab accessibility issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard or other office equipment. Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in a business or technology-related degree; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
