The Department of Performing Arts and Technology aims to provide an environment where all NC State students can develop skills and knowledge, preparing them for a lifetime of arts engagement and various careers through excellence in teaching, performance, service, outreach, and creative work in arts entrepreneurship, dance, music, and music technology.

The department offers a variety of technique, ensemble, and lecture courses, including a new major in Music Technology and academic minors in Dance Studies, Dance Performance and Choreography, Music Studies, Music Performance, and Arts Entrepreneurship.

The Performing Arts and Technology department seeks applications for applied music lecturers in all instrument areas to provide individual instruction for students who register for applied lessons. Responsibilities include teaching 13 weekly, 45-minute lessons per student and participation in the end-of-semester juried exams. This position is part-time; the time commitment and compensation are determined by the number of assigned students.

Please note: This position is based on need and availability. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates should specify which instruments they are qualified to provide instruction for.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Requires master’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with applied music students at the collegiate level.

  • Valid NC Driver's License required.
