Full Time Neurologic Music Therapist Position
Living Spirit Therapy Services, LLC is located in the Twin Cities Metro Area of Minnesota.
All candidates must already hold the MT-BC credential (Music Therapist Board Certified) with at least two years of professional experience. All Living Spirit Therapy Services team members must have already completed the Neurologic Music Therapy training and be following current Academy continuing education requirements. Candidates must be fully vaccinated for COVID and maintain this standing according to CDC recommendations.
Living Spirit Therapy Services, LLC is looking for a Neurologic Music Therapist to join our team with an hourly, full-time, benefited (including medical and short term disability), employee position 32-40 hours per week. Must be willing to serve clients with any diagnoses throughout our community.
The current caseload consists of working 1-1 with children and adults with autism, developmental disabilities, and/or mental health diagnoses; with older adults with dementia; with groups in long term care; with adaptive lessons; with community wellness; with the medically fragile; and in early childhood music.
Unique opportunities include the possibility to co-treat with counselors to support clients with mental health needs, to support older adults in marginalized low income communities, and to provide telehealth services to support medically fragile children.
Must be willing to serve clients both in person and through telehealth. Living Spirit Therapy Services, LLC is a music therapy private practice in the Twin Cities Metro area of Minnesota serving individuals and groups throughout the community as well as through telehealth. Our practice specializes in music therapy services for seniors; those with neurologic issues such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and autism; individuals with developmental disabilities; early childhood music; mental health; and community wellness.

Our Empowering Wellness Initiative is a web-based tool to support community mental and physical health; and to provide enrichment for children and individuals with disabilities. Our Core Words for Series is a collection of 27 original songs of core words for school language development with corresponding videos, chord charts, and ready to use classroom power points. Our Gather and Grow series provides opportunities for continuing education, networking, resource sharing, and community building.

- You need a consistent schedule day to day.
Full Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Board Certified Music Therapist, holding the MT-BC credential.
- Have completed the Neurologic Music Therapy training and willing to maintain NMT status according to current Academy guidelines.
- Must be willing to maintain full vaccination status for COVID-19 including receiving current boosters.
- Able to do both in person and telehealth sessions providing location and technology independently.
- Have outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Be self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Have experience working with the elderly and children.
- Be able to assess clients and adapt therapeutic music exercises to meet immediate needs.
- Have excellent musical skills including quality vocal tone, and ability to play and adapt a variety of instruments to stimulate, relax, and facilitate movement.
- Have good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Respond to communications quickly.
- Be willing to treat all clients/families/program coordinators with dignity, respect, compassion, and patience.
- Have reliable transportation, valid auto insurance, and willingness to report to assigned locations daily to serve clients throughout the Twin Cities metro area (up to 60 minutes one way). Typical drive times are 20-30 minutes one-way and occur immediately preceding and immediately following music therapy sessions.
- Perform various clinical and administrative tasks including but not limited to driving, treating clients, and documenting sessions.
Benefits:
- $1,500 relocation stipend to be paid out in 3 $500 payments during the 1st 3 months if moving from out of state.
- $1,200 new hire bonus to be paid out in 12 $100 payments during the 1st 12 months.
- 3 weeks of paid personal leave + birthdays off.
- Earned Safe and Sick Time. One hour of earned sick and safe time is earned for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours in a year.
- Medical benefits available after 90 days of employment.
- Short term disability available after 90 days of employment.
- Mileage reimbursement at current federal rate. Currently $.67.
- 1:1 supervision, and team meetings – some supervision and team meetings can be counted as NMT mentorship hours.
- $20 monthly wellness stipend.
- 50% of AMTA (required), MTAM, and CB-MT (required) dues.
- $20 data reimbursement per month with full in person caseloads.
- Up to $200 continuing education stipend per year for pre-approved continuing education expenses reimbursed at each 1-year employment anniversary.
- Up to 1 day/8 hours of paid continuing education time can be used after 6 months of employment.
- Work specific email and online and desktop versions of office 365.
- Access to an extensive supply of instruments and materials.
- Access to a comprehensive electronic catalogue of resources such as music, session ideas and supplemental materials, articles and research, materials to help enhance your technique with a variety of instruments and interventions.
- The ability to work independently within a team of music therapists.
