Ophthalmic Photographer I

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of specialized ophthalmic photographic techniques.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in photography preferred. Ophthalmic photography related experience preferably fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography required.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current certification as a Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) preferred. Certification within 12 months of all applicable research imaging protocols required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Documents patients with standard and wide field fundus cameras.
- Performs diagnostic Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).
- Performs diagnostic Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT).
- Performs diagnostic fluorescein angiography (FA).
- Records patients with a camera to document external pathology.
- Functioning knowledge of eye pathologies and how to photograph them.
- Basic knowledge and practical experience in specialized imaging software in addition to practical experience with Windows software utilizing programs such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, etc.
- Archives and maintains imaging databases.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients and staff.
- Performs detail oriented work, consistent with an academic setting.
- Cleans and maintains photographic and related equipment.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to perform the above duties at a professional level of quality and speed. Displays professional rapport with patients and staff.
