ONSITE IN PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY
SUMMARY:
The Medical Photographer provides high-quality medical photography for delivering the best care to the patients of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department. The photographer/graphic designer provides the primary photographic functions as well as computer graphic support for the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide primary photographic functions using proper equipment and techniques.
- Provide high-quality professional photographs of children to young adults, including intraoral photos.
- Be proficient in Photoshop.
- Upload images to Microsoft and Epic to be used by multidisciplinary teams. Consistent high-quality photographs will be used to determine the best plan of care for patients. These images are also necessary for certifying surgeries and obtaining prior authorizations for treatments.
- Support research administrative duties and research projects. Compose graphics for research papers.
- Maintain photography equipment, lighting equipment, and accessories.
- Other duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
- Exceptional technical photography skills.
- Proficiency in Photoshop is required.
- Experience in dental/medical terminology preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare/dental environment preferred.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is preferred.
- Experience working in electronic medical record (i.e., EPIC) or similar software is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's in photography preferred.
- 2+ years of related photography experience required.
