At The Brand Guild, we craft and tell the stories of some of the most exciting consumer brands in the country, and we are looking for a Public Relations Manager to join our growing team! Note: this position is based in our NYC office on a hybrid schedule (2 days/week in-office).

You Are:

  1. A PR professional with 4+ years of experience working with consumer brands.
  2. A self-starter who loves the thrill of landing a great pitch, who can craft and execute the big stories from start to finish.
  3. A strong writer and communicator who has experience managing client accounts.
  4. A problem solver and strategic thinker who is excited to craft and tell the stories of our incredible clients.
  5. Someone with a proven track record of effectively managing and nurturing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and retention through regular communication, problem resolution, and strategic account management.
  6. A curious person who loves to stay on top of the latest brands, trends, and industry news.
  7. Someone who thrives in and wants to contribute to an energetic environment and cohesive culture.

You Will:

  1. Serve as the day-to-day contact and thought partner for a portfolio of clients in the consumer lifestyle space.
  2. Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers, and competitors in the marketplace.
  3. Develop and drive communications strategies for a range of clients.
  4. Prepare spokespeople for media interviews through the development of messaging and talking points and in-depth media training when required.
  5. Conduct proactive media outreach, prepare press releases, media briefings, messaging documents, coverage reports, and communications plans.
  6. Ensure ongoing monitoring of editorial calendars and proactive pitching of story ideas, news developments, and expert sources to media.
  7. Mentor and develop junior staff members and interns.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional and national press.
  9. Perform in-depth research to support communications and messaging.
  10. Analyze, measure, and report on communications and media projects.

Requirements:

  1. 4 years of public relations experience working with consumer/lifestyle brands within an agency setting.
  2. Ability to independently manage multiple projects and clients.
  3. Ability to find and develop stories, and drive visibility -- from creating major moments to developing a drumbeat of ongoing pitches.
  4. Ability to provide essential support for press initiatives including research, writing, and strategic thinking.
  5. Understanding of media needs and media relationships.
  6. Ability to work with all levels on the team, from interns to senior staff.
