Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to create polished, professional designs that anticipate and accommodate the needs of users.
  • Experience with complex software solutions for the web or desktop environments; mobile design experience.
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental design principles and usability heuristics; ability to articulate the reasoning behind design decisions and communicate effectively with non-designers.
  • Willingness to engage with clients. Must be a creative thinker with great interpersonal skills.
  • 4-year degree (B.S. or B.A.), ideally in a related field (design, HCI, human factors, computer science, technical writing, psychology, etc.).
  • Highly proficient in design tools such as Sketch or Adobe Creative Suite.

Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand complex requirements and transform them into simple, user-focused designs consistent with our UX strategy and vision.
  • Be responsible for the full design lifecycle - including research, ideation, information architecture, wire-framing, visual design, prototyping, and testing.
  • Advocate for the needs of end-users throughout the product design process while still keeping the business goals in mind.
  • Evangelize & promote good design principles and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Work with project stakeholders to build consensus behind the best practical design solutions.
  • Perform UX reviews for projects in active development to ensure that they adhere to design specifications and established style guidelines.
  • Independently manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the design team to define, document, and communicate formal style guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date on the current UX best practices and trends.
