DesignX Community is hiring: UX/UI Designer in Sterling

Description

The UX/UI Graphic Designer works across teams to create and design a dynamic digital user and brand experience for our client’s eCommerce websites. This position is responsible for the design layout and functionality aspects of client websites to ensure it is user-friendly, intuitive, and dynamic to enhance the overall user experience. In addition, this position is responsible for concepting and creating various new graphic design content as assigned.

Requirements

1. Transform print design layouts into engaging and visually appealing web design content to support client needs.
2. Create advanced layouts/mock-ups to effectively communicate interaction and web design ideas.
3. Design the aesthetics to be implemented allowing for interface edits as needed.
4. Conduct usability testing to assess user experience and ease of site design.
5. Concept, template, and design new content, keeping with client approved style guide.
6. Attend and participate in brainstorming sessions and report on work progress.
7. Submit completed work for approval and re-work as directed until work has met client expectations.
8. Remain up to date on trends and emerging platforms including insights into cultural trends and target audiences.
9. Work in a collaborative manner to meet client deadlines.
10. Efficiently manage the workflow of assigned projects.
11. Work with team to get direction on projects and deliver high quality, polished work for client needs.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in web design, graphic design, digital media, art, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
2. Experience: Two (2) years of web and/or UX design, graphic design, digital design, or similar experience in a professional capacity.
3. Strong portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency in skill and a sophisticated sense of style and design.
4. Excellent proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
5. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS a plus.
6. Understanding of usability and human-user interaction principles and their application to website development, information architecture and content management across multiple web browsers and devices.
7. Strong understanding of design, typography skills, and color sense.
8. Experience using Figma and Sanity.
9. Proficiency in motion graphics software such as After Effects a plus.
10. Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture preferred.
11. Problem-solving, interactive approach to design, with ability to multi-task and work in different brand aesthetics.
12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
13. Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
14. Highly motivated with ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and desire to work on a collaborative team with high standards.
15. Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills; able to balance multiple priorities and demands simultaneously.
16. Maintains a positive attitude, even while working under pressure in an environment where job demands are constantly changing.
