UI/UX Design Architect
The UI/UX Design Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing new software, ensuring optimal user-friendliness. This role is crucial to improving user satisfaction by enhancing usability, accessibility, and enjoyment in the interaction with the product. The UI/UX Design Architect is responsible for developing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for software products while ensuring an outstanding user experience.
Location: Greensboro, NC | Type: Full-time, Exempt | Salary Range: $105,000-115,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations through observation techniques, task analysis, and feedback.
- Conduct usability tests on each independent type of page or user interface module and collect feedback.
- Use testing results to drive continuous design improvements.
- Analyze user interface problems and devise solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements.
- Lead the design of user interfaces for web, mobile, and digital platforms.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, screen flows, and prototypes around customer needs.
- Create user-centered designs by incorporating business requirements and user feedback.
- Implement attractive designs with an eye toward modern trends in graphical user interfaces.
- Ensure consistency in application interfaces across the company’s product portfolio.
- Integrate brand identity into the design for a cohesive brand experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design execution.
- Communicate screen designs, interaction models, end-to-end experiences, and the target audience to the project team.
- Articulate design decisions and UX-related strategies to stakeholders.
- Establish and promote UI design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Maintain design wireframes, mockups, and specifications as needed.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
- Keep current with industry trends and competitor products, and communicate design ideas to developers.
- Ensure that UI/UX designs meet quality standards and advocate for human-centered design best practices.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar.
- Experience in creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
- Excellent visual design skills with a deep understanding of user-system interaction.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of usability factors and design psychology.
- Experience with user research and usability testing.
Additional Skills:
- Agile/Scrum process experience can be a plus.
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in HCI, Interaction Design) can be advantageous.
- Certifications related to UX design such as NNg UX Certification, or similar.
Physical Requirements:
- This is largely a sedentary role; however, moving hardware may be required.
- Basic motor skills and manual dexterity for extensive computer usage are required.
- Sitting for extended periods is required.
- Talking, hearing, and close vision abilities are required.
- Standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and crouching are required.
- Stress may occur with changing priorities, tight deadlines, and long hours.
