We are currently seeking a skilled Backend Engineer (Video) to join our Video team. Reporting to the Video Operations department lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth server-side operations. Your responsibilities will include writing high-quality code, developing tools, creating application tests, and more. We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of IT systems and network infrastructure who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is eager to learn new technologies.

You will need to:

  1. Develop internal hardware management tools, distributed systems, and other server-side applications.
  2. Create and maintain system specification documentation.
  3. Follow DevOps practices.
  4. Stay updated with the latest languages and technologies.
  5. Design and implement server features to support video functionality and releases.
  6. Follow and enhance workflow and coding guidelines established by the team.
  7. Translate business requirements into technical and functional designs.
  8. Diagnose and resolve system issues.

To succeed in this role you should have:

  1. Fluency in Erlang or Elixir.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the IT field or equivalent education.
  3. Knowledge of network infrastructure.
  4. Experience with development for Linux environment.
  5. Strong understanding of IT systems.
  6. Excellent written and spoken English.
  7. Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment without compromising accuracy and attention to detail.
  8. Willingness and motivation to learn fast.
  9. Ability to work effectively in a team of 30+ members.
  10. Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a distributed team.
  11. Experience in video delivery and broadcasting.
  12. Knowledge of CI/CD.
