We are open to full-remote and hybrid schedules for this position. This position can be based out of any of the Southeast Region based offices. Orlando, Tampa, Charlotte, Raleigh, or Atlanta preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Under general direction, write, edit and coordinate use of basic to advanced project technical specifications related to the engineering and architecture professions, using multiple specification platforms; MasterSpec, SpecsIntact, SpecPoint or client based content.
  2. Coordinate review of Division 00/01 with project managers and firm’s counsel.
  3. Develop, maintain, and update project specifications table of contents (TOC) based on section lists received from each discipline.
  4. Create, update, and maintain specification section development responsibility worksheets.
  5. Incorporate appropriate federal, state, and local requirements.
  6. Lead the quality checking process for the project technical specifications.
  7. Provide regular updates to each project’s PM and design engineer.
  8. Review project drawings for specification continuity.
  9. Update and maintain the master specifications library.
  10. Participate in writing new master specifications for the firm’s library as needed.
  11. Upload specifications sections into specifications systems (ex: ProjectWise).
  12. Train, mentor, and encourage staff in developing spec writing proficiency.
  13. Coordinate the work of intermediate and entry level spec writers on assigned projects.
  14. Assist with project contract language and proposals.
  15. Perform ad hoc duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA) or related technical registration/license OR Bachelor's degree and CCS Certification.
  2. 7 years of related experience.
  3. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Well-rounded experience with design, project management and construction administration.
  2. Experience writing and editing engineering technical specifications for public, government and private sector projects.
  3. Experience with HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical specifications preferred.
  4. Experience with CSI format requirements for technical specifications.
