Freelance Senior UX / Product Designer Job at mavis in New York

Our client is seeking a Freelance Senior UX/Product Designer with IA experience, mainly remote but ideal if New York based for key meetings in the city. It would be on a part-time basis from January but could ramp up to more days as the project goes on.

This role will be joining a creatively-led independent global agency. You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team of strategists and designers, breaking down complex problems into clear and innovative solutions. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has innovative ground-breaking work. The ideal candidate will be bright, ambitious and collaborative, always approaching work with curiosity and integrity. You must be confident in conceptualizing excellent products and services through lean UX, as well as designing, prototyping and testing – ideal if you have strong Information Architecture experience too.

The chosen candidate will be able to back-up design decisions based on user research, data and business insights, and is fantastic at aligning stakeholders with opportunities derived from a blend of customer requirements and emerging technologies. Once the initial research phase is complete this will develop into a broader Product Design role.

Essential Requirements:

• 7+ years in UX Product Design and IA for complex digital platforms
• Excellent portfolio showing clear UX Product Design and IA across various platforms and products
• Create sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, user testing and prototypes for digital products and platforms
• Solid knowledge of user experience design processes, methodology and digital technology
• Leading UX design, strong background in user research and insights, including card sorting and tree testing to inform IA decisions
• UX analyst experience to support IA with a focus on innovation would be a bonus
• Strong analytical skills with ability to transform data, user behaviour metrics and feedback into coherent IA and UX design strategies
• Ability to translate complex data into clear and compelling stakeholder presentations and workshops
• Up to date on all UX tools and frameworks, fluent on core tools and software – Figma, Miro
• Confident in communicating both visually and verbally, presenting ideas to team members and stakeholders
• A great collaborator, able to share and mentor others, as well as working and communicating effectively with the rest of the team
• Passionate about innovation and bringing fresh approaches, using emerging technology and innovative solutions to improve user experience
• Must be based or commutable to New York to travel in for meetings and workshops
