Job Summary:

The Producer is a digitally-savvy content creator and storyteller who will be responsible for writing, producing, shooting, and editing digital content for PBS Utah’s YouTube channel and other platforms. This position will create original digital content, contribute to PBS Utah’s YouTube gardening series, Modern Gardener, and help fulfill our mission of serving Utah audiences through authentic, high-quality digital content. The ideal candidate has proven experience with YouTube, creating original digital content with the channel’s audiences in mind, excellent written and verbal communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, produce, direct, shoot, and edit original digital content for YouTube and other platforms.
  • Edit in a style compelling for digital audiences using Adobe Premiere Suite, applying graphics, animation, music, and adjusting color and audio.
  • Manage and analyze YouTube metrics and stay updated on digital trends, technology, and content.
  • Produce, shoot, and edit Modern Gardener, PBS Utah’s YouTube gardening series.
  • Work collaboratively or independently as needed and receive constructive feedback positively.
  • Maintain high editorial integrity and adhere to a high journalistic code of ethics.
  • Ensure digital content aligns with PBS Utah’s strategic goals and brand identity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus three years of directly related experience in instructional or commercial television required.

Preferences:

  • On-camera skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to build trust and understand various perspectives with diverse communities is advantageous.
  • Fluency in a second language is advantageous.
