Title: Producer, Live Events

Occupational Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Live Events and ACC Network, the Producer, Live Events will be responsible for assisting in the production of all ACC Network Extra broadcasts for Duke Athletics. Working closely with the ESPN and ACC Network staff, as well as Duke’s Marketing, Promotions, Internet Operations and various other departments.

Essential Functions:

  1. Work with production staff on (ACCNX) broadcasts
  2. Assist with video board production when needed
  3. Work with Director of Live Events and ACC Network to oversee and maintain all equipment
  4. Exhibit a good grasp of existing technology and engineering of a control room
  5. Stay current with broadcast trends around the country
  6. Have a working knowledge of emerging technologies as they develop
  7. Understanding of broadcast cabling at all of Duke’s facilities and ability to further knowledge in this space
  8. Work with Duke communications staff to tell the story of Duke student-athletes
  9. Other work as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  1. At least two years of producing live sporting events with a college or professional sports team
  2. Demonstrated storytelling, editing and production skills
  3. An understanding of proper lighting techniques
  4. A grasp of existing and emerging technology (Ross Xpression, Dreamcatcher, EVS, 3Play, etc.)
  5. An understanding of marketing and promotional theories and practices
  6. Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  7. Expertise with video editing and graphic design systems such as Adobe Creative Suite products.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Work requires an understanding of the production of still and motion media projects in order to coordinate and direct the production of such projects, normally acquired through a college degree in a media production area.

Experience: Work requires one year of directly relevant experience.
