Job Description

The Personal Lines Producer at Vann & Co Inc is responsible for maintaining and maximizing profitable relationships with personal lines clients and for growing the book of business through new client sales.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify, qualify, and develop personal insurance opportunities with new and existing clients in person, online, by phone, and through written communication.
  2. Foster and maintain excellent relationships with clients and prospects through regular follow-up, accurate and timely quotations, and general account support.
  3. Actively prospect round accounts, solicit increases in existing client coverage, and network for new clients, including win backs.
  4. Obtain best coverage/rate for insured, process quotes, and bind insurance coverage; follow up as necessary with inspection, photos, and other documentation.
  5. Present policies to insured and educate them on coverages and rates.
  6. Support and prepare clients for renewal and retention, and maintain strong client relationships.
  7. Monitor, review, and report on key metrics to ensure sales targets are achieved.
  8. Collaborate with team members, mentor staff, provide expertise and answer questions, and participate in formal and informal meetings as needed.
  9. Maintain CE and participate in ongoing education to keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.

Qualifications:

  1. Hold the insurance license required by your state.
  2. Possess a valid driver’s license and a source of reliable transportation.
  3. Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations.
  4. Have a proven track record of business-to-business sales success.
  5. Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills with the ability to close sales.
  6. Be people-oriented, customer-focused, and professionally assertive.
  7. Possess outstanding organizational skills with the ability to complete difficult assignments without supervision.
  8. Have excellent time management skills and thrive in a team environment.
  9. Technology and computer proficiency including agency management systems.
