LOCATION: New York, NY
HOURS: Full time / Seasonal (6 Month Term)
PAY RATE; $20.00/hour
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
Role Summary
The Graphic Design Assistant should be involved in and learn the design process by supporting the design team on all aspects of graphic design works as well as hands on installation & production. This position participates in the development of branding through creative components including ADs campaigns, social media graphics, web-design, wayfinding & signage, production and installation for museum operations. The Graphic Design Assistant should have skills with standard industry design programs as Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Premier) and skills in print media production and vinyl installation. In the scope, the candidate will be exposed to various tasks and activities of varying complexity, gain experience on exciting work and grow with the expanding Museum of Sex.
This is a 6-month seasonal position, with potential to become permanent.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Collaborates with the cross functional team to develop brand graphics and Ad campaigns.
Adapt the brand identity into graphics which apply on social media, web, and press releases.
Assist in printing production and installation; printing vinyl, cutting, applying on the surface.
Maintain / organize print files and work space, as well as sourcing materials and fixtures.
Work with the team, in office and with outside consultants and vendors.
Able to move from place to place which may include lifting packages up to 30lbs
Perform additional duties as required
Employee Qualifications You are extremely detail-oriented and organized
Professionalism: Knowledge of branding and graphic design and demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions and produce high quality graphic material for various print and electronic projects (e.g.advertisement, social media graphics, wayfinding, signs, etc.)
Knowledge of standard industry production, printing and multimedia processes and procedures
Knowledge of typography, layout, photography and color theory
Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud software including Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects is required
Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team

The work environment is an indoor, climate-controlled public area of assembly. The noise level varies throughout the venue, some areas are very quiet while others contain reasonably high noise levels. There is ample lighting throughout the venue. There are no hazards and no protective devices worn or used in the office work environment.
