ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

  • Pay Considerations -The starting salary for the position is $67,353.61. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience.
  • Work Schedule - This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hour work week), Wednesday-Saturday. Wednesday & Thursday from 10am-8pm and Friday & Saturday from 8am-6pm at our Aliante Library Location (2400 W. Deer Springs Way. NLV, NV 89084)


THE ROLE

To plan and coordinate an effective outreach and engagement strategy for the Library District in collaboration with the library's management staff and director. The Outreach and Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, implementing, and collaborating with community groups and organizations to promote the library district's programs and services; attending outreach events and community meetings, training and evaluating library staff on effective outreach strategies, collecting data on program effectiveness and community needs, and providing reports and recommendations to the library management and City leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional-level experience in operating and administering community outreach, neighborhood/community assistance, or community programs or events.
  • Equivalency: A minimum of five (5) years of recent professional work experience working in outreach or community engagement, especially related to at-risk populations, may be substituted for the education requirement above.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working within a diverse community
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience with Library services and programs


SELECTION PROCESS

Pre-Employment Screening - Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints; and drug screening. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete
