Memphis Grizzlies is hiring: Technical Director, Part-time in Memphis

The Opportunity:

The Technical Director position is responsible for switching and directing live productions for the Memphis Grizzlies/FedExForum, as well as programming and laying out the video production switcher for In-Arena, podcast, Live and To Tape productions.

In This Role You Will:

• Setup, program multi ME FX switcher and direct, live to air, taped, in arena and streaming video productions;
• Ensure all sources are available on the switcher during pre-production fax and properly operating;
• Provide direction to camera operators and other source operators as related to job function;
• Lead crew members in creating an exciting, fun presentation for in arena and online viewers;
• Other related duties as needed.

The Experience You Will Bring:

• Technical or College Degree in Multimedia or Broadcast/TV production or equivalent work experience.
• Strong background in directing live multi-camera/multi-source show in a sports environment.
• Knowledge of Multi-ME switcher operations such as Grass Valley Kayenne, Sony Mvs 300,Ross Aquity, Ross Carbonite, Tricaster and DVEs, replay & graphics system and how they incorporate into the production environment.
• Able to establish effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
• Strong understanding of RTMP and multicast streaming.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS office products.
• Must be available to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Nice to Have:

• 3-5 years experience in live TV broadcast, sports broadcast or live in-arena sporting events and production.
• In-depth knowledge of VDCP & PBUS interface programming.
• Experience in Dashboard and Ross Talk programming.
• Knowledge and passion for NBA basketball.
