We are seeking an experienced Freelance Social Content Creator to support our team for 40 hours/week, during Assembly's working hours (9-5ish, local time). Focusing on both agile and always-on content, this role will bring the culture, trends, and expressions of social into hands-on, in-platform content creation for our clients. An interest in AI, software and cloud services is mandatory, and this is a client-facing, energetic, and highly collaborative role for daily content production.

As a Freelance Social Content Creator, you will be responsible for collaborative and quick turn ideation and content creation across platforms, with a particular emphasis on TikTok. You’ll be presenting ideas to the team and the clients, and using your skills to shoot, edit and finish in-platform. You’re ready to be behind and in front of the camera as needed, leveraging trends to both concept and execute content ideas. You will work in lock step with a copy partner to lay out scripts and a strategist to ensure the creative meets business goals and objectives, while you take the reins to produce and iterate to final post.

Who are you?

You have deep experience concepting and creating content across platforms: with a particular focus on mobile capture & editing via TikTok. You live and breathe social; by understanding trends in news and culture and how to respond to them, you’re deeply familiar with social strategy and how to judge content performance. You love to find creative ways to tell stories, make an impact, move fast and have fun while doing it. You often direct by doing, you show more than tell, while being a collaborative partner on a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

Ideating both planned and agile content concepts with particular emphasis on TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn and more.

Concepting visual assets such as memes, Instagram slideshows and social copy.

Clear and quick turn visual framing of ideas for our team and clients, to provide clarity and velocity to the work.

Presenting ideas and light lift production plans to team and clients as needed.

End to end content creation including shooting, editing, and using all the tools in app, ideally also with CapCut.

Proactive interest in burgeoning in-platform tools and features, providing workflow recommendations accordingly.

Collaboration with creative leads, video directors, animators, and/or editors to help achieve expanded creative goals, as needed.

Ready to be on camera, potentially self-filming, as needed.

Provide understanding and communication regarding creative and content creation workflows.

Organize, plan, and drive light-lift productions to efficiently fulfill content needs.

Collaboratively iterate and be solutions-oriented to get content across the finish line and approved.

Basic Qualifications:

At least 4 years of relevant experience in social media, integrated communications marketing and/or related fields.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience ideating both planned and agile content concepts with particular emphasis on TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn and more.

Experience creating short form video with particular focus on TikTok. Please provide links.

Experience with shooting, editing and using all the tools in app, ideally also with CapCut.

Experience working with video directors and editors to help achieve expanded creative goals as needed.

Working knowledge of post-production and motion graphics, and what can be creatively achieved using these.

Experience concepting visual assets such as memes, Instagram slideshows and social copy.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

On camera and self-filming experience.

Strong understanding of creative and content creation workflows and production planning for social media content.

$65 - $85 an hour An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
