SUMMARY
Hart is looking for an analytical, cross-channel Media Senior Planner/Supervisor, to join our growing team. This position will serve as the media lead across multiple accounts, applying media expertise to create, execute and steward cross-channel, data-driven strategies and executions. The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful, data-driven self-starter whos eager to grow.
This position is a hybrid role and must be within driving distance of our Detroit, Columbus, or Toledo offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall
- Demonstrates industry knowledge and curiosity, staying on top of emerging trends, technologies, vendors and tactics

- Data-driven, seeking sources, synthesizing different streams of information and research to provide clear rationale for all decisions
- Problem-solver mentality: identify new solutions or new approaches to ensure constant iteration and evolution of our processes and product, connected to business, consumer or industry insights
- Develops an understanding of client/category. Healthcare experience a plus
Planning
- Manage planning initiatives across key accounts, building & presenting media strategies, negotiating tactical plans, implementing and stewarding campaigns.
- Own tactical plan development, analyzing data to inform channel, platform, KPI benchmark and other recommendations across multiple accounts
- Collaborate with Account, Strategy, PR/Social and Creative teams to ensure a cohesive strategic plan, translating client objectives and broader comms strategies into a media strategy & plan
- Use media resources/tools such as MRI/Simmons, Kantar, eMarketer, Nielsen & ComScore to pull: competitive, consumer data, marketplace insights, etc
- Synthesize data to develop target sizing, role of channel, budget allocation, KPI/metrics recommendation/benchmarks and performance estimates across both traditional and digital channels
Investment
- Develops cost estimates for planning scenarios
- Own the broadcast, print and OOH vendor RFP and negotiation process working with directors to develop clear evaluation criteria ensuring the media buy aligns to the strategy, targeting and is built to drive efficiency & effectiveness
- Communicate digital direction to the digital investment team, ensuring their schedules align to the strategy, targeting and KPIs
- Guide and/or manage all ad ops (tagging, trafficking, creative spec sheet development, etc), including pre- and post-launch QA. Experience with Google Campaign Manager and Google Tag Manager a plus.
- Buy stewardship, including monitoring pacing/KPIs, managing all makegoods and owning the monthly reporting across key accounts, reviewing the data and identifying key insights/optimizations
- Manage budget, flowchart, IO & billing processes, ensuring buys meet spend, weight goals and hit KPI benchmarks
- Responsible for keeping all buys updated in buying system (Strata), and monitoring performance/pacing across Digital, broadcast, and Print/OOH
- Lead all post campaign reporting, actualizing and posting, pulling insights from dashboard systems such as Tableau & Google Data Studio, as well as pulling directly from GCM and various social media platforms.
- Serves as primary point of contact for media vendors
- Provides input into larger brand, investment strategies (such as brand safety guidelines, Measurement and Learning Agendas and negotiation strategies)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in marketing, advertising, communications, consumer insights or equivalent and 5+ years of related media buying experience
- Experience working within media systems (Planning: Kantar, Scarborough, etc. Buying: Strata, Nielsen. Stewardship: Looker Studio, GCM)
- Digital and traditional planning & buying experience
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving initiative, with the ability to think unconventionally in proposing solutions
- A proven ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of on/offline marketing and advertising as well as an understanding of media concepts and terms
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required
