We are seeking a detail-oriented Computer Aided Design Technician to join our team and perform both routine and complex drafting assignments. This role involves preparing a variety of technical drawings and diagrams, including maps, site plans, geophysical data presentations, shoring/retaining wall design drawings, profiles, cross-sections, schematics, and process diagrams. The Computer Aided Design Technician will also be responsible for preparing GPS equipment to locate and stake boring/test pit locations, as well as performing post-processing of GPS data.

In addition to drafting tasks, the Computer Aided Design Technician will maintain a library of past and reference drawings to support ongoing projects. The role may also involve assisting with field data collection, staking and locating test sites, performing sampling and testing on construction materials, and documenting field activities as needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to all safety guidelines, participating in pre-task planning, and promptly reporting any safety concerns. This is a hands-on position that offers exposure to various aspects of geotechnical and environmental engineering projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine and complex drafting assignments, not limited to:

  • Maps and Site Plans

  • Geophysical Data Presentation

  • Shoring/Retaining Wall Design Drawings

  • Profiles, Cross Sections, Schematics, and Process Diagrams

  • Prepares GPS for locating and staking boring/test pit locations and performs post-processing of accumulated GPS data.

  • Follow all safety rules, guidelines, and standards including active participation in pre-task planning and reporting of safety issues or concerns to management

In addition:

  • Maintains library of past drawings

  • Maintains library of reference drawings

  • Performs other duties as requested, including but not limited to, assisting with field data collection; locating and staking boring/test pit locations; perform sampling and testing on construction materials; and observing and documenting field activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Knowledge of Auto CAD and Microsoft Office products required

  • Experience with Microstation and Open Roads Designer (ORD) required

  • Knowledge for surveying-Township & Range, GPS Coordinate System, and Northern Eastern Coordinates System, preferred
