Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Video Producer to join our dynamic Brand & Creative Team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling through video, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of the latest video production processes, techniques and trends. This role will oversee high-quality video production that aligns with our brand and engages our audience across various platforms.
Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities
As our Video Producer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end video production across all channels including our website, social, digital media, 60-second spots, long form TV and our weekly live streaming format for new product launches. You will lead projects and guide teams comprised of our in-house Videographer/Video Editor, Copy Lead and Art Directors to execute all videos in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience producing suites of integrated video assets that hold a narrative together across various channels.
Pre-Production
- You will proactively partner/collaborate with Product Development, Merchandising, Ecomm, Sales and Marketing teams to plan and scale GOVMINT's video strategies.
- Working with these same partners, you will translate their inputs and objectives into action-orientated creative briefs that get the working team excited to make awesome content.
- Assemble the appropriate resources & crew for each video project-pulling in freelancers when needed to fill capacity gaps or specialized skillsets (i.e. gaffer, sound engineer, set dresser).
- Facilitate creative kick-offs and brainstorms with Copy Lead, Art Director and Videographer to crystalize the video concept, narrative, hook and treatment.
- Ensure that compelling narratives and art direction treatments are approved by all key stakeholders ahead of Production Day(s).
- Secure/coordinate on-camera interviewees and gain alignment on questions ahead of Production.
- Secure/coordinate on-camera talent for weekly live stream product launches and gain approval of their scripts/content ahead of Live Production.
- Provide on-camera interviewees questions ahead of Production Day, for prep.
- Own the Pre-Pro decks including approved narrative, storyboards, shot lists, products needed, interviewees/questions, treatment, delivery specs, logistics, locations, schedules, call times, etc.
- Schedule & communicates the shoot date, times, locations.
- Coordinate all logistics, travel, schedules, meals, equipment rental, scouting for on-location shoots.
- Request, acquire and return any physical products needed for the shoot from our warehouse.
- Coordinate any props or other physical items needed on set.
- Prepare and complete usage contracts and talent release forms.
- Negotiates and handle any additional production costs and contracts when needed.
Production Day(s)
- Be the lead on set for productions in our Eagan studio and on-location shoots.
- Optimize Production Day(s) to the fullest, capturing as much content as possible with minimal non-shooting time.
- Ensure that the Production Day goes smoothly and all shots are captured from the shot list.
- Manage the schedule of on-camera talent on Production Day(s).
- Provide food & drink on Production Day for crew/talent.
- Be the Showrunner of weekly live stream product launches for virtual and in-person audiences-ensuring that the format, content, talent, AV quality, lighting and interactive experiences are above par and continually optimized for improvement.
Post-Production
- Manage the Post-Production process, timelines, routing, revisions and final delivery of assets.
- Guide Video Editor towards first cut based on the creative brief approved in Pre-Production.
- Coordinate recorded voiceover or source other VO solutions as needed.
- Source existing footage from mints, artists and historical archives to supplement the edit.
- Present or route videos to key stakeholders, gathering and consolidating actionable feedback for the Video Editor.
- Determine content strategy and cut down approach needed to produce suites of integrated video assets that hold a narrative together across various channels.
- Quality control videos before delivery-ensuring assets meet all technical and brand standards.
- Properly archive and organize video files once completed.
- Lead Video Retrospectives to continually improve our content strategy and executional operations.
Overall
- Drive the vision and evolution of GOVMINT's end-to-end video production capabilities.
- Project manage and prioritize multiple video projects at a time-effectively communicating updates.
- Oversee and prioritize the workflow of our Videographer/Video Editor.
- Manage our Eagan Content Studio-scheduling, set, equipment, etc.
- Manage and track expenses associated with video production.
- Assist in the development of video playbooks-defining contemporary brand standards, scope of deliverables for launch tiers, content strategy, channel best practices, SOPs and scaling strategies.
Experience, Skills and Requirements
- 6-8+ years of as a Video Producer or similar role, preferably in a creative agency or production company.
- Degree in Film, Video Production, Multimedia, or a related field is preferred.
- A portfolio showcasing your proven ability to produce high-quality videos including any examples of exceptional pre-pro decks you have prepared.
- Experience with long and short form videos for social, digital media, websites and TV.
- Experience with live streaming video productions a big plus.
- Highly organized, excellent communicator, even better collaborator.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong understanding of lighting, sound and camera operations.
- Good understanding of video editing software (i.e. Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Hands-on video editing a plus, but not required.
- Experience with Frame.io and Monday.com a plus.
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- This is a hybrid role, 3 days week on set in Eagan, MN and other filming locations as need be.
- 10% - 15% per year domestic and international travel may be required up to a week at a time.
- Previous experience in aspirational niche markets or high-end luxury products, like coins, a plus.
