Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented Assistant Editor located in Mexico to join our dynamic Media team. As an Assistant Editor at Selkirk Sport, you will play a key role in supporting our editors by managing media assets, creating and refining project timelines, and ensuring that all content is delivered on schedule. A primary responsibility will be editing video podcasts for Selkirk TV, alongside editing social media content and creating social-friendly clips. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality video content that engages and inspires the pickleball community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Podcast Editing for Selkirk TV:
    • Edit video podcasts for Selkirk TV, ensuring high-quality production that aligns with the brand's standards and vision.
    • Work closely with the content team to deliver polished, engaging episodes that resonate with our audience.
    • Manage and organize podcast footage, syncing audio and video to create seamless final products.
  • Footage Management & Organization:
    • Upload, organize, and manage raw video footage from shoots, ensuring all files are correctly labeled and easily accessible.
    • Sync content and organize files in Adobe Premiere Pro to streamline the editing process.
    • Maintain organized project files and databases to support efficient workflow and retrieval.
  • Timeline Creation & Editing:
    • Collaborate with editors to create, manage, and adjust project timelines, ensuring that all deadlines are met.
    • Assist in the assembly and editing of video timelines, including trimming and arranging footage to meet creative and technical specifications.
    • Ensure the consistency and continuity of the timeline, making necessary adjustments to maintain the project's overall vision and quality.
  • Social Media Editing:
    • Edit and repurpose video content from podcasts and other sources into social-friendly clips for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
    • Create engaging, shareable content that highlights key moments from our videos, ensuring it aligns with the brand voice and appeals to the target audience.
    • Stay current with social media trends and best practices to optimize content for engagement and reach.
  • Music & Asset Management:
    • Search for and organize appropriate music tracks and other assets for video projects, ensuring alignment with the content's tone and aesthetic.
    • Manage the integration of music and other assets into the timeline to enhance the final product.
  • Support & Collaboration:
    • Assist editors with various production needs, including edits, revisions, and project file management, to ensure the successful delivery of final videos.
    • Provide regular updates on project status and deadlines to the production team, ensuring smooth communication and workflow.
    • Participate in team meetings, offering creative input and support to contribute to the overall success of the content production process.
  • Deadline Management:
    • Monitor and manage project deadlines, ensuring that all stages of the editing process are completed on time.
    • Communicate potential delays or challenges to the team promptly to prevent bottlenecks and maintain project schedules.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in video editing or a related post-production role
    • Proven experience in editing video podcasts and content for digital platforms.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and other tools within the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., After Effects, Photoshop).
    • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Solid understanding of video production fundamentals, including media management, audio sweetening, and color correction.
    • Familiarity with social media video formats and best practices for content optimization.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tackling production challenges.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Passion for video production and an eagerness to grow within the role.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of Riverside is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the pickleball community and industry.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and multimedia content creation.
