Proposal Writer

Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA seeking a Proposal Writer. This is a full-time and hybrid position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Work directly with technical project staff and SMEs to integrate and translate expertise and articulate content into proposals.
  2. Create compliant and compelling proposal content in response to Federal Government solicitations.
  3. Plan, organize, and facilitate content planning sessions to identify and articulate the win strategy in the form of strengths and differentiators.
  4. Develop clear and concise content for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs that accurately communicates the proposed solution and win strategy.
  5. Manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  6. Edit content to streamline prose, improve focus, sharpen structure, and reduce word count (one-voice or technical edit).
  7. Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 2+ years’ experience in federal technical proposal writing, editing/proofreading, and production support.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, or a Technology field.
  3. Ability to read and interpret Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), and Request for Information (RFI) solicitations.
  4. Familiar with MS Word, SharePoint, or other proposal collaboration tools.
