Job Description Summary:
As a Lead Content Strategist, you'll be a key driver of content strategy and editorial quality for multiple cross-functional product delivery teams, leading a team of Content Designers. At PayPal, Leads work side by side with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Researchers to create user experiences that empower people and businesses around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead through craft and help grow a small team of Content Designers.
- Inspire the team to evangelize for our customers, develop the information they need, and determine when and how best to communicate with them.
- Be a storyteller and help shape presentations and customer experience through stories and messaging strategies.
- Drive the definition of a clear and actionable strategic direction for content in your product area.
- Lead workshops that change how the organization solves problems and aligns with PayPal's long-term vision.
- Set content standards for the organization and contribute to thought leadership and advancements in design.
- Use data and customer feedback to measure the effectiveness of the content strategy and pivot as needed.
- Work with the Content Community of Practice team to develop and implement content strategy frameworks and guidelines.
- Coordinate content with Brand, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure a consistent end-to-end experience.
- Use data and research to evaluate your content's impact and push for continuous improvement.
- Be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, terminology, writing, and style.
- Demonstrate how content can be used to create lasting relationships with our customers.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience writing for multiple channels and platforms.
- 3+ years of experience managing or mentoring writers.
- Experience in understanding the customer journey through research and data analysis.
- Expertise in using design thinking to create great products.
- Track record of positioning content as an engagement tool.
- Experience in financial services, payments, B2B or B2C e-commerce is preferred.
- AI interest or experience preferred.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $99,300 to $216,040.
For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
