Security Clearance:
- Security clearance required TS/SCI with a CI POLY or the ability to obtain one.
Description:
- Reviews intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensures that style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields.
- Amends draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure the content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.
- Ensures proper classification markings in accordance with IC guidance.
- Works with authors to revise products for narrative organization, and negotiates further revisions as needed.
- Shall revise and edit draft text as necessary and works closely with the primary author, discussing recommended changes in subject-matter treatment, obtaining information for revisions and ensuring mutual agreement on the final product.
- Ensure consistency of expression, logical organization and development, readability, and conformity of grammar and style to publication standards.
- Use electronic production means for a timely review process.
- Shall analyze information and use electronic production to edit materials, coordinate graphic materials with other document elements, suggest layouts, and sometimes to print and disseminate final products.
- Written products usually must be tailored to be consistent with other related products or involve blending materials from various sources into unified products.
- Shall correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage, provide technical editors review and amend products for clarity, consistency, logic, proper classification markings, and conformance with DIA style and Intelligence Community (IC) standards.
- The standards conform to the IC Markings System Register and Manual, the DoD Manual for Written Material, the DIA Correspondence Guide, the DIA Style Manual for Intelligence Production, and Intelligence Community directives.
- Shall conduct classification and sourcing review of all applicable documents and intelligence products.
- Shall maintain open communication with production staff and document authors to ensure transparency of technical edit processes and style changes.
Desired Experience:
- Desired experience minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
Desired Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. An additional 4 years of experience in the specific labor category, for a total of 12 years of experience in the specific labor category, may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
