STEP/SALARY: BA - 6TH YEAR / $50,825.00 - $102,758.00*
Responsibilities
- Develops library procedures and routines by planning daily activities.
- Establishes rules and procedures for circulation of materials.
- Creates an environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, resource-based instructional practices, and collaboration with teaching staff.
- Shares with the learning community collaboratively developed and up-to-date district policies concerning such issues as materials selection, circulation, reconsideration of materials, copyright, privacy, and acceptable use.
- Encourages the use of instructional technology to engage students and to improve learning.
- Commits to remaining current in professional practices and developments, information technologies, and educational research.
- Collaborates with teachers and students to design and teach engaging inquiry and learning experiences and assessments that incorporate multiple literacies and foster critical thinking.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required certification: School Library-Media Specialist (062); master’s degree preferred.
- Three years’ successful experience in an urban setting preferred.
- Experience in the use of educational technology.
- Excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills.
