SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing and overseeing the analysis, administration and oversight of comprehensive policies, programs and practices for asbestos laboratory testing. They will be critical in developing and implementing policies, procedures and testing methodologies used throughout our laboratory network.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert technical support to aid in updating laboratories around the country to increase asbestos testing capabilities.
  • Review and update SOPs within an ISO 17025 laboratory environment
  • Provide guidance and leadership for LIMS deployment and integration within the national network of laboratories
  • Serve as a lead in guiding and providing training to staff on techniques related to the department
  • Adherence to the quality management system, ensuring data accuracy and quality and resolving any discrepancies and make recommendations for improvement
  • Assist in the development and implementation of consistent customer-facing reports
  • Research and development of methods that are consistent with current and future ASTM, EPA, CARB and other agencies related to their area of expertise
  • Provide upper-level management with department status updates, budgetary needs, project timelines
  • Provide technical expertise and represents Pace® Analytical by speaking at meetings, industry conferences, and Pace® Analytical sponsored events, as well as interacting with customers on a regular basis
  • Provide technical expertise to assist clients with questions related to proper sampling, data interpretation and any other questions they may have related to asbestos testing

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree Biology, Geology, or a closely related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 10+years of experience conducting tests related to the detection of asbestos
  • Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) experience required
  • Overnight business travel up to 25%
  • LIMS experience, preferred
  • SOP review and editing experience, preferred
  • Business development experience, preferred
  • Professional presentation experience, preferred
