Thinkpath Engineering Services (TES) is actively searching a Technical Writer to add to our team in Miamisburg, OH. 

 Job Description

Responsible for logistics support activities, tasks and assignments. Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.

Primary Duties

• Responsible for all phases of document generation (i.e., researching, writing, customer verification, incorporating verification updates, and delivery via CM software).
• Writes and updates payload and ground equipment technical publications, technical bulletins, in both MIL-STD and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) formats for operator through maintainer level manuals, supporting technical manual validations and verifications with customer, creating service bulletins, and writing/updating legacy equipment technical publications.
• Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, engineers, logisticians, 3-D model animators, production personnel, and field technicians, and observing performance of system maintenance throughout life cycle.
• Researches technical specifications, related program documents, engineering drawings, 3-D animations/job aids, and maintenance videos.
• Focuses on the end-user needs to safely perform his/her job, while protecting the equipment from potential damage and ensuring equipment operational requirements.

 Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience depending on proven technical writing capability
• Background in or understanding of hardware maintenance and all phases of logistics.
• Understanding of Configuration Management processes.
• Experience with creating technical manuals and training development.
• Experience with XML, Arbortext, and Solidworks or other CAD software are a plus.
• Possesses excellent technical writing skills with a focus on accuracy and consistency of both technical information and documentation layout.
• Able to work independently on a daily basis.
• Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees, and managers at all levels within the company.
• Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
