Serve as On-Air Announcer, transmitter, console operator for production and broadcast, support fundraising campaigns, broadcast from remote locations, and produce promos. Compile and submit music reporting information quarterly, maintain fixed asset inventory, assist in the music store and work evenings and weekends when scheduled.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Safe Guards highly confidential donor and other sensitive data.
  • Serve as audio console operator for broadcast and production.
  • Serve as on-air announcer and operates transmitter with in FCC regulations.
  • Provide administrative support; meets and greets visitors, answers and places telephone calls, operation of KANW Store, fundraising events and other station events.
  • Inventory equipment, equipment loss prevention and replacement parts.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain the electronic equipment used to acquire, edit, and transmit audio for radio.
  • Control and adjust incoming and outgoing broadcast signals to regulate sound volume, signal strength, and signal clarity.
  • Operate satellite, microwave, or other transmitter equipment to broadcast radio.
  • Produces and edits program segments and spots, as required.
  • Assists with fundraising activities.
  • Maintains music library.
  • Knowledge of radio automation systems.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to work on-call evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission Rules and Regulations and community emergency operation procedures.
  • Knowledge of communications law.
  • Ability to develop station programming which will be supported by the community.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with the operation of broadcast radio equipment.
  • Experience with RF transmitter control and power calculations; digital production and digital editing; analog and digital broadcast studio equipment; and remote broadcast and remote transmitter set-up.
  • Three years of experience in the operation of broadcast studio and production equipment and air sound.
  • Effective "on-the-air" communication and high-level reading skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission Rules and Regulations.
  • New Mexico drivers license and pass APS driving test and qualifications.
