Our fun, hands-on learning summer camp is looking for a PAID Photography Intern interested in learning all aspects of photography for digital marketing. Capture the excitement, thrill, and satisfaction kids learn by making in a summer camp environment!

What will I do?

With guidance from DEAN Adventure Camps Marketing Director and Site Director, you’ll be directed on how to approach documenting the joy of camp.  Your role will mainly be taking photos of all the various activities taking place on campus. From sewing to soccer, swimming to robotics, every program will allow you to express your creativity and get the shots that tell the story.  Generally, photos you take will be geared towards parent communication and social media. Photos captured should be in a journalistic style.

We’d love to schedule a first-round interview with you if:

  • You’re available to start in person from and stay on from mid-June to mid-August.
  • You’re available 36-40 hours a week for all of the summer. 
  • You have your own camera - and you’ve got the basics down.
  • You love to spend time around kids.
  • You understand the basics of social media.
  • You’ve been to camp, love camp, and want to be in a camp environment.
  • You're comfortable learning new tools (Google Drive, Asana, Slack, etc)
  • You’ve got a visual eye and want to hone your craft.
  • You’re comfortable operating independently, remotely, and without constant supervision.
  • You know how to use photoshop - you just need more time to practice! 
  • You’re authentic, and you have a sense of humor.

 

Bonus Points (but not required):

  • A willingness to learn. Jump in and learn new hands-on skills from our wide range of programming:
    • Learn by Making: Sewing, building, baking, cooking, fashion, woodworking, writing, illustrating, coding and robotics, etc.
    • Learn by Doing: Biking, skateboarding, parkour, sports, building, exploration, etc.
    • Learn by Playing: Creative play with 3-5 year olds through STEAM, cooking/baking, and dance movement. 

 Important Notes to Consider Before Applying

  • This is a PAID position. 
  • This is ideal for an internship. 
  • This is an in-person position.
  • This is a temporary position.
  • This position runs from mid-June mid-August.
  • The hours are 35-40 hours a week.
  • You must submit a portfolio or link to a collection of your work.

DEAN Adventure Camps Photography Intern Will Receive

  • Full reimbursement for required background checks and certifications:  
    • This may include certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and FBI fingerprinting.
  • Daily Perks:

    • Be eligible to earn an additional $50/ week for working six or more weeks of camp and fulfilling your contracted schedule with no lateness or absences.

    • Predictable workweek with hours set Monday through Friday and no evening shifts. Exact schedules vary by location, but most positions offer 36–40 hours per week.
