The Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and creating compelling designs for the OkayAfrica & Okayplayer brand. The Designer would produce high-quality creative - adhering to deadlines, with attention to detail, and they would also provide input on creative projects and initiatives.
Programs (proficient to expert-level competency)
Photoshop
Illustrator
Figma
After Effects
Proficiency in the following is a plus: Webflow
Premiere Pro
HTML & CSS
Blender
Experience: Has created paid social media advertising campaign assets
Has created assets for newsletters
Has created graphics for editorial stories
Has created graphics and edited video content for social media
Has a strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory
Has designed websites
Has basic UX/UI experience
Has worked in a music media environment or agency
The Designer should not only be culturally relevant; but should BE culture itself. The designer should know what it takes to make a piece of work, or a brand, famous, newsworthy, and deserving of people's time and attention. 2+ Years as a Graphic Designer
