Temporary Contract Specialist
to support the
Middlesex County Utilities Authority (MCUA)
in its Contracts Group. This position fills a critical need during an upcoming maternity leave and requires
immediate
availability. The successful candidate will be well-versed in
New Jersey contracting requirements
and will play an integral role in administering and executing various forms of contracts, including equipment and supply purchases, design agreements, and construction contracts.
Scope of Work
The
Temporary Contract Specialist
will collaborate closely with MCUA's Contracts team to ensure that all contract documents, solicitations, and agreements adhere to New Jersey state regulations and best practices. This role demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and familiarity with public procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and review solicitation packages for equipment and supply purchases, design services, and construction projects Ensure all contracts comply with
New Jersey
statutes, regulations, and agency policies Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather and verify contract requirements Maintain comprehensive contract records and documentation, tracking all deliverables and timelines Assist in resolving contract-related issues and disputes in a timely, professional manner Communicate effectively with vendors, consultants, and external agencies regarding contract terms and deliverables Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Business, Public Administration, Legal Studies, Engineering , or a related field (preferred) Relevant experience in contract administration within the
State of New Jersey , especially with public-sector agencies Strong knowledge of
New Jersey public procurement laws
and regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and common contract management tools
