Responsibilities

Responsible for successfully researching, conceptualizing, developing, and writing preventive, clinical, research, and health promotion proposals. Responsible for working cooperatively with community and clinic staff to identify programmatic needs and models. Strive toward collaborative efforts with multiple public and private organizations to design wellness programs which will benefit the residents of North San Diego County.

  • Oversee accurate and timely maintenance of grants management data; ensure that grant files are accurate and well maintained.
  • Identify internet, journal, publications and review weekly to identify potential funding sources including, but not limited to governmental programs, private foundations, corporations, and other sources, and determine appropriateness for clinic programs.
  • Contact potential funding sources to discuss eligibility requirements, criteria, interest, and potential programs, and maintain ongoing relationships with funding contacts.
  • Participate in program planning committees to design program methodologies, goals, strategies, objectives, and evaluation.
  • Write grants and thoroughly compile required attachments for submission.
  • Attend bidder’s conferences.
  • Write and compile miscellaneous reports, articles, needs assessments, or special projects which may be required of the organization from time to time.
  • Identify necessary internal data sets for the successful completion of written grants & communicate need for data to CEO and/or department directors.
  • Work with the assigned team coordinating care around the patient.
  • Participate (as instructed by provider) in evidence-based counseling/education (motivational interviewing, coaching) regarding disease management and unhealthy behaviors.
  • Communicate across the continuum of care – from internal staff to third parties such as health plans, specialists, hospitals, and radiology facilities.

Candidates should be based in San Diego, Riverside, or Orange Counties and be available for in-person meetings on occasion.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum five years' grant writing experience.
  • Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Excellent writing skills with successful government grant and private foundation experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems, internet search capabilities, and budgeting software and processes.
  • Candidates should be based in San Diego, Riverside, or Orange Counties and be available for in-person meetings on occasion.

Pay Range

  • $50.00 - $55.00 per hour.
