Job Summary
The Senior Marketing Writer is a strategic storyteller and content leader who plays a pivotal role in shaping Sundt's voice and brand identity. This individual creates and manages high-impact content across multiple platforms to drive business development, engage internal and external audiences, and reinforce Sundt's position as an industry leader. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Senior Marketing Writer ensures that all written communications reflect Sundt's core values, align with organizational goals, and resonate with diverse audiences. With a focus on creativity, strategy, and results, this role combines writing expertise with leadership, content strategy, and data-driven insights to amplify Sundt's message in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and reviews of content effectiveness for Sundt.com and internal newsletters, leveraging data analytics to refine strategies and improve engagement.
- Craft compelling, engaging, and results-driven content for diverse platforms, including websites, blogs, social media, email campaigns, ads, trade publications, and industry award submissions.
- Develop and execute content strategies that align with business development goals, branding guidelines, and marketing objectives.
- Develop scripts and storyboards for employee communication videos, training materials, and marketing videos in partnership with the corporate videographer.
- Ensure tone, messaging, and brand consistency in all internal and external communications, providing edits and guidance as needed.
- Identify opportunities to optimize content performance through audience insights and content metrics.
- Lead creative campaigns, collaborating with corporate videographers, photographers, graphic designers, and other marketing team members to develop cohesive multimedia projects.
- Manage and mentor the Marketing Writer, providing regular feedback and fostering professional growth in storytelling, messaging, and strategic writing.
- Oversee and maintain Sundt.com content, including developing new pages, blogs, and case studies while ensuring alignment with SEO and UX best practices.
- Provide writing assistance to other departments as directed by the Marketing Director, ensuring all materials reflect Sundt's standards of excellence.
- Translate Sundt's unique stories into impactful written pieces, showcasing the company's expertise, values, and achievements.
- Write and edit content with a strong understanding of AP Style, SEO principles, and UX best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a track record of meeting tight deadlines.
- Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems.
- Familiarity with AP Style, SEO basics, UX principles, and CRM/workflow tools such as Cosential and Asana is preferred.
- Minimum five years of professional experience as a senior-level marketing or business writer. Construction or adjacent industry experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Teams.
