Position DescriptionThe Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the School of Applied Sciences at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a 9-month Assistant Professor, tenure-track position to start in August 2025. Faculty with expertise in pediatric speech-language pathology (e.g., child language acquisition, child language disorders, literacy, school-age language disorders, speech sound disorders, phonology, pediatric feeding and swallowing, or pediatric medical speech-language pathology) are encouraged to apply, with other areas of expertise considered as well. Applicants must have an earned doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in communication sciences and disorders or a closely related field, earned CCC-SLP, and eligibility for Mississippi state licensure. Additionally, applicants should have a record or demonstrated potential of scholarly peer-reviewed publications, external funding to support research programs, and successful teaching. A strong record of quality research and teaching is required for tenure.
The successful candidate will develop and sustain a line of research that contributes to scientific advancement in an area related to your expertise, actively pursue external funding for research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses (face-to-face, online, and/or blended), advise students and direct student research, and engage in departmental, college, university, and professional service.
