JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News Digital is looking for an Associate Editor, Flash/Media/Culture to join our team. You are well-versed in media, politics, and pop culture and have a clear understanding of the Fox brand and audience. You must be able to identify editorial angles that will drive conversations around the news of the day as well as bigger-picture issues. In this role, you will multitask between cutting videos & writing articles.
You will be offered the following shift:
4:00 PM ET - 12:00 AM ET, Tuesday-Saturday
**You must be flexible to work holidays and weekends as needed.**
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clip videos from shows broadcast on Fox News and FOX Business and produce written pieces based on TV segments and interviews.
- Produce original written and video pieces; conduct original interviews.
- Monitor news and come up with editorial angles to pursue for FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com.
- Program our YouTube channels for Fox News and Fox Business.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in news, TV, or daily video.
- Knowledge of and passion for news, media, and pop culture.
- Experience with digital analytics to monitor and build traffic.
- Familiarity with AP style, strong knowledge of current events and politics.
- Strong SEO and social media skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- A self-starter with strong news judgment for a digital audience.
- Ability to pivot between breaking news stories and in-depth projects with longer deadlines.
- Ability/flexibility to work mornings, evenings, or weekends as required due to the demands of the breaking news industry.
- Experience using content management systems and video editing systems preferred.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $61,000.00-77,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $50,800.00-64,100.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
