Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? The Music Therapist position provides therapeutic music for Anew Care clients by assessing the emotional well-being and social functioning of each client to generate a musical response need for the care plan across Anew's Hospice service.

Essential Position Functions

• Use dedicated therapy treatments to regulate intentional motor movements and melodies used by music therapists.
• Assist in stimulating parts of the brain using music and rhythm.
• Help develop social, communication, and motor skills with music and rhythm.
• Utilize proper therapy treatments to assist with regulating motor movement patterns, improving communication, body awareness, and control, and motivating changes in other areas of each client’s life.
• Demonstrate knowledge of clients’ clinical strengths and exhibit clinical and interpersonal communication skills.

Special Requirements

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as intake/analytical data responsibilities dictate.
• Dependable vehicle and willingness to travel between locations/events.
• Must be flexible and willing to travel as needed.

Education & Qualifications

• Board Certified
• A minimum of two years’ experience in music therapy; multi-site experience is preferred.
