Overview

TRC has an immediate opening within our Technical Development Unit for a Technical Director with expertise in Chemistry/Geochemistry with focus on geochemical principles that control groundwater chemistry relevant to coal combustion residuals (CCR), along with an understanding of these principles as it applies to assessment of site conditions and appropriate corrective measures. This position may work remotely from anywhere within the US or report to a local TRC office.

The Technical Development Unit is a team of national experts at TRC that work together and with other experts across the environmental sector to promote technical excellence and support growth within TRC.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as a national expert and report to the Director of the Technical Development Unit.
  • Develop expertise to position TRC as a leader in our industry.
  • Join and serve a leading role in TRC’s CCR Center of Research & Expertise (CORE) team.
  • Collaborate with other CORE teams and experts in identifying new services and innovative technologies to support our nationwide clients and TRC’s growth.
  • Serve as a mentor to other TRC staff engaged in geochemical studies and investigations.
  • Actively support branding and business development activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Geology/Geochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, or related fields.
  • 15+ years of experience performing and managing environmental projects focused on Chemistry/Geochemistry.
  • Knowledge of geochemical principles that control groundwater chemistry relevant to CCR.
  • Experience working in and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstration of expert knowledge through project and client interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills applicable to project teams, regulatory agencies, and the public.
  • Extensive experience with presentations, document development and review, and effective personal communications.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex proposals and projects.
  • Goal oriented, quality focused, and committed to fostering a team environment.
  • Strong business acumen and commitment to TRC Values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Creativity, Accountability, Teamwork and Passion.

Desired Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MSc. or PhD) in relevant science or engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Personal subject matter expertise and credentials/license(s) is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge in analytical techniques and forensic assessment related to metals geochemistry is a plus.
  • National recognition/reputation is a plus.
  • Established client relationships managed by the candidate is a plus.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program based on performance.
