At AWS, we're hiring experienced Frontend Engineers with experience in designing user experiences and interfaces (UX/UI), and building cloud-based applications at scale. Our consultants deliver proof-of-concept projects, reusable artifacts, reference architectures, and lead implementation projects to assist organizations in harnessing the power of their data and unlocking the potential of advanced AI capabilities through user-friendly interfaces.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
As a Frontend Engineer and UX/UI designer, you are proficient in developing and deploying user interfaces with integrations to backend services. You will be working alongside scientists and Application Developers to develop novel solutions for real-world problems. You'll interface with customers to understand their vision, capture their pain points, and collect general requirements for their applications. You will also work independently with the customer to iterate on the design and functions of user interfaces and provide deep and meaningful designs of experiences for all application users. In addition, you will support the development of the user interface including writing custom scripts to build interfaces and integrate with backend components. As part of a larger team, you will support testing of the application and presentations of the application to broader audiences.
This is a customer-facing role, so you will interact directly with customers to understand their business problems and help them define user experiences for their applications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience as a user experience (UX) designer, product designer, interaction designer (UI), information architect, or similar role.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of using tools like Figma, Sketch, etc to design and create interactive mock-ups/wire frames of user interfaces.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies.
- Experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience.
- 4+ years of experience building infrastructure to host and serve applications at scale, as well as building synchronous and asynchronous components of an application.
- 2+ years building backend infrastructure that integrates with the frontend.
- Strong design skills and the ability to create visually appealing user interfaces.
- Experience building interfaces that meet accessibility standards including Section 508 compliance.
- Experience building interfaces that are compatible with eReaders for the visually impaired and are easy to navigate overall.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
