General Description

A Senior UX Designer with a passion for design, an eye for detail, and a clean aesthetic style. Make design decisions driven by data while retaining our vision and design. Capable of marrying user needs and effective design, consisting of creating visually engaging, innovative, and functional mobile and web products.

Our designers are part of the team who manages the process from beginning to end, from wire-framing, listening labs, interactive prototyping, and final designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use UX research practices to analyze and understand customer needs and map them to best practices towards engaging and immersive digital design and experiences.
  • Follow a human-centered design approach to developing UX, mockups, wireframes, low and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Develop and design graphical elements, style guides, and data visualization.
  • Understand product development lifecycle to efficiently collaborate with Product and Development teams.
  • Support development team hands-on to ensure development quality.
  • Collaborate with UX Principals and other designers in building a culture of user experience design practices for Popular.
  • Practice a continuous learning approach to understand available technologies, user interactions, and other industry trends and best practices.
  • Effectively communicate design choices and direction to multiple stakeholders by incorporating and articulating design principles which balance the customers' needs. Participate and collaborate in design critique, both of your work and that of other designers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in UX/Visual Design discipline in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Sciences, Web Development, or related field.

Experience

A combination of 6+ years of user design experience, preferably for a highly trafficked consumer-facing digital product such as mobile and web applications. Portfolio highlighting user experience and visual design work with a deep understanding of visual design standards, typography, iconography, and colors.

Collects, researches, and complements data; synthesizes complex or diverse information. Demonstrates attention to detail; applies design principles; generates creative solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions.
  • Project Management: Ability to prioritize and work with multiple projects and tasks with minimum supervision; self-direct and task switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly.
  • Operational/Regulations Processes: Knowledge on budget administration, resource allocation, organization’s policies, and regulations.
