What User Experience Design contributes to Cardinal Health

Commercial Technologies manages the enterprise's portfolio of commercial technologies to maximize the business value of the technologies and enhance the customer experience. This function creates strategies for the portfolio and innovative solutions based on relationships with business leaders, develops back-end solutions and capabilities, and improves the front-end experience.

User Experience Design creates intuitive digital interfaces that meet business objectives, make it easy for a user and/or customer to accomplish their intended task(s) and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction when engaging with the company online.

Job Summary

The Cardinal Health Pharma eCommerce team is looking for a Lead User Experience Designer who will lead the design of digital products that take our digital products to the future and beyond. We are looking for a passionate designer and team player who will be part of a massive digital transformation effort.

The Lead UX Designer will be responsible for imagining future-proof usable and desirable digital experiences for mobile apps and responsive web, and have the capability to clearly communicate ideas at a broad level to bring these experiences to life from beginning to end and anywhere in-between.

The End-to-End Lead UX Designer will help advance the Mobile and Desktop vision for our best-in-class e-commerce ordering system. In this role, you will uncover and define user needs, build out workflows, construct the information architecture, create layouts, define taxonomy, build interactions, or create any relevant UX artifact as needed. The UX designer will design detailed creative assets for both written and visual content roughly 25-35% of the time. The User Experience Designer will work directly with the product team in their respective cross-functional work teams to prioritize and specify features to deliver great new experiences. This role may be required to work with an offshore team daily at early morning hours or late evening hours – whatever works best for you.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead end-to-end experiences.
  2. Maintain a portfolio that demonstrates your capabilities and direct responsibilities as well as your deep understanding of UX best practices and standards.
  3. Be passionate about the user and their experiences, focusing on interaction design, but may also involve UI, UX research, and/or writing.
  4. Problem solve and design with robust databases in mind.
  5. Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Advocate to development lead teams the benefits and efficiencies of UX.
  7. Understand the nuances between mobile platforms and responsive and adaptive design.
  8. Embrace change and thrive in an ever-evolving team environment.
  9. Have a working knowledge of how design works when coded with regard to any interface or device.
  10. Participate in whiteboard sessions with your teams in digital user experience design including mobile apps and responsive web design.
  11. Work in an agile or iterative work setting and enjoy co-locating with your entire team.
  12. Collaborate with virtual teams.
  13. Continuously learn new things and challenge yourself.
  14. Be open to working early or late hours with offshore teams, as needed.
  15. Occasionally travel to meet customers (10%).
  16. Possess excellent storytelling skills to present your work to upper management, stakeholders, and other business partners in a consumable manner.
  17. Evangelize human-centric design methodologies across the division.
  18. Feel comfortable with complex data-centric experiences.
  19. Understand accessibility and its importance.
  20. Know Atomic Design and its relation to your work.
  21. Have working knowledge of Figma.
  22. Prototyping skills (Axure and Figma) are a big plus.
  23. Have UX research experience.
  24. Have training in designing for accessibility.
  25. Hold a design-thinking badge or coaching certification.

Qualifications

7-12 years of experience, preferred

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Anticipated salary range: $103,500 - $155,295
