Your role as a Major League Assistant Video Coordinator:
You will be primarily responsible for assisting the Major League video team with collecting and editing video footage, partnering with Major League staff and Scouting departments for prioritizing daily video needs, collaborating on video projects, and mentoring Player Development video interns.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Maintaining a best-in-class video support process for the Major League team - collecting video from various sources, editing/tagging in a timely, professional manner and working to meet the demands of the ML Coaching Staff and ML Players
- Partnering with the ML Staff and ML Advance Scouting departments to prioritize the day-to-day video needs for meetings and preparation for opponents
- Collecting and editing video throughout ML Spring Training, ML Regular Season and ML Playoff Games
- Collaborating with Player Development and Pro Scouting Department with video projects
- Supporting the training and mentoring of all Player Development video interns
- Representing the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
- Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and general knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, laser printer, telephone, and computer. Experience in SQL a plus
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar
- Ability to effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines
- Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
You will be required to meet the following:
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree, or education equivalent, preferably in video-related studies
- Prior work experience in Major or Minor League baseball
- Advanced skills in video editing software packages and baseball specific programs and technologies, e.g.: BATS, Trackman, Edgertronic, TruMedia
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as needed
- Able to travel as needed, including Spring Training and the entirety of the Major League schedule
- Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds
- As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary rate for this full-time position is $70,000.00. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
