Position Title: Marketing Manager
Division: Marketing and Communications
Classification: Exempt
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Salary: $80,000-$90,000
Position Summary:
Marketing Manager to help lead a variety of outreach, marketing, and data initiatives. This role will support the digital integration of web properties and corresponding constituent journeys and user experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing digital marketing strategies that drive traffic, engagement, and conversions. This role requires government and public affairs experience, a blend of data analytical skills, creative thinking, copywriting, content creation, and website management. A large part of this role will support the outreach and marketing needs of the Illinois Funds and ePAY team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Work with the Director of Marketing and Content to create and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies across multiple channels and efforts, including SEO, email marketing, and content marketing.
- Campaign Management: Plan, implement, and optimize campaigns to best reach programmatic targets. Monitor performance and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Lead generation: Using live events, strategic content placement, and digital strategies to capture leads for the Illinois Funds and ePAY team. Partner with ISTO program directors to develop prospect iterative awareness and sales journeys.
- Content Management and Creation: Oversee the development of engaging web content for ISTO web properties, email campaigns, and programmatic advertising that aligns with our brand voice and objectives.
- Collateral Coordination: In concert with the Creative Services Manager ensure timely production and brand cohesion.
- SEO & SEM: Regularly optimize website content for SEO to boost organic search rankings. Support the Director of Marketing and Content, and external agencies, with paid search campaigns, including performance tracking.
- Analytics & Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to measure and report on campaign performance. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in state or local government, with a proven understanding of managing publicly funded programs.
- Strong writing skills and expertise in writing for multiple personas across an array of channels. Proven ability to develop engaging content.
- Lead generation, capture, and conversion experience.
- Proficiency in WordPress and other Content Management Systems (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Expertise with Facebook Insights, Google Ads, and other digital advertisement platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven marketing.
- Proven track record in increasing brand awareness through digital marketing strategies.
- Proficient in campaign planning and execution.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and to assemble backdrops, popups, and event-related display and exhibit materials.
- Seven years or more in communication, external affairs, marketing, or public affairs roles.
- Excellent communication skills and an eye for design are a must.
- Ability to organize thoughts quickly and strong attention to detail is required.
- Motivated, adaptable, and a willingness to learn.
- Contemporary knowledge of current affairs, financial acumen, and government operations.
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or any other related field. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in marketing or communications, account experience required. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
